Mark O’Donnell is Chief Operating Officer of ICAP Patent Brokerage and a recognized leader in intellectual property analytics, patent research, and AI/LLM -driven patent analysis. Mark has developed advanced proprietary LLM workflows directed at all facets of patent portfolio transaction support. In addition to overseeing the firm’s operational platform, he provides advanced patent engineering, analytics, and strategic advisory expertise to clients across a broad range of technology sectors. Mr. O’Donnell is widely regarded as an industry-leading expert in the application of artificial intelligence to patent analysis, prior art research, portfolio evaluation, and intellectual property transaction strategy.

Mr. O’Donnell is also Founder and Managing Director of Oink IP, where he focuses on advanced intellectual property analytics and innovation intelligence solutions. His more than 20-year career spans intellectual property research, patent analytics, engineering, enterprise architecture, and emerging technology applications. Prior to joining ICAP Patent Brokerage, he held senior leadership roles including Head of Transaction Analytics at IPwe, Vice President of Search & Analytics at MaxVal Group, and Vice President and Founder of Patent Research Services at IP.com, where he built and led intellectual property research and analytics initiatives serving corporations and law firms worldwide.

Earlier in his career, Mr. O’Donnell served as a Risk Analysis Enterprise Solutions Architect supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection modernization initiatives, Senior Imaging Scientist at Xerox, and Optical Engineer at Eastman Kodak Company. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Imaging Science and a Master’s degree in Optical Engineering.
